ABOUT THE LECTICAL INTEGRAL MODEL ASSESSMENT

LERA | LLRA | LDMA | LRJA | LSUA | LIMA

The LIMA is composed of three sections.

Personal information

On the first page of the LIMA, respondents are asked for personal information. This information is collected for research purposes. We do not share this information with governments, employers, potential employers, or anyone who will use it to evaluate respondents' work or make decisions about placement (including teachers, school districts, and educational institutions). If respondents are participating in a research project, we do share this information with researchers, who have contracted with us to use it only for research purposes.

The scales

Scales are used to help us understand more about respondents' attitudes, preferences, or opinions. They help us (1) learn more about how people learn and apply integral theory and (2) develop better feedback for reports. Please respond honestly.

The essays

The essay section of this assessment is designed to help us understand how respondents use the integral model to think about complex problems.

The essays are the core of this assessment. If the instructions are followed carefully (important), they will allow us to provide a score that reflects the level of the respondent's thinking about the integral model and contribute to ongoing research into how people come to understand and work with the integral model.

Respondents must answer the questions as completely as possible, thoroughly EXPLAINING all of their answers. These explanations provide us with the information we need to determine developmental level. If respondents do not do a good job showing us how they think, we may not have enough information to provide an accurate score. In fact, if they do not carefully explain their answers, it is likely that their scores will be lower than their true level of skill.

There are no "right" answers to any of our essay questions.

Essay questions 1-2

These questions are designed to reveal respondents' current understanding of integral theory and how they use this theory in their personal and work life.

Essay questions 3-6

The questions in this section allow respondents to show how they would use the integral model to approach a throny, real-world problem.

Respondents begin by selecting a dilemma. (Click on the tabs in the list below to explore avaialble dilemmas.) Unless they have been instructed otherwise by a teacher/researcher/coach, we suggest that respondents choose a dilemma that relates to an area of personal interest.

(Note: Respondents will not be allowed to select a dilemma that they have selected in the past.)
